    Blocking unwanted websites

This guide is for XP but I think it is the same for Vista and Windows 7.

First, we need to open the folder where the hosts file is located:

    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Now click the file named hosts and choose notepad to open it.

Save the file and make sure you save over the original file. If you make a txt file it will not work.

Your hosts file won't be the same size unless you copy the whole page into the file and save it as it is a very long list. This will solve the problem for the link redirects for any links you click which go to those webpages. If a link redirects to any of those shock sites the page will simply not load. If the link is working correctly it will load for you just fine. I hope this is helpful!

Any site you want to block can be typed in here. If you want those gross sites blocked, go to:

Now copy the section called "#<shock-sites>" like so:

another way is to change the host file itself
